It was about 1800 entries to edit with all of the unpublished models included that I’ve been prepping to launch. I’ve made a mostly streamlined way to do it so in the future adding models should be easier.

I’ll be tossing up some new models soon as well! I have a lot of catching up to do with our current models. We’re also adding another artist to the list, so look forward to some MatMire Makes models.

We now have a new Bambu A1 Mini to go to events that have power! Now you can see it print live at the events! I’ll be printing shorter prints so everyone can see how it works (Typically 30-40 minutes to complete a print).

Finally I should have announced this sooner but we have an event in Ellington Aug 2nd – 3rd. Friday we start at 5pm and Saturday should be about 11am. Both nights can go until 10pm but I’m not positive we’ll be there that late. I hope to see you there!

End of the Event, More to Come! https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/uncategorized/end-of-the-event-more-to-come/ https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/uncategorized/end-of-the-event-more-to-come/#respond Sun, 09 Jun 2024 22:58:16 +0000 https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/?p=9064 Thank you to everyone who showed up and took around our setup at the flea market today and yesterday! It was awesome to see the excitement and interest and talk to some of you about 3D printing.

We plan on returning to the same area in July. Currently the expected date is July 12th-14th. Typically due to running CPU Unlimited I wouldn’t be able to make it during the week days, however I should have help to cover it that Friday!

As for online orders, I’m going to be spending this week getting as much as I can updated and added to the website. I know a few people have expressed interest in something to hold a switch and I hear you. I have a couple of models that I think might be able to play the part and I’m going to print and test them soon. If they work then I’ll post them on the site and make another update at that time. I also plan to send in a request to STLFlix who makes our controller and phone holders. They have multiple artists who make designs and hopefully the suggestion brings on some cool designs.

For the rest, I’ll be constantly printing new stock to ensure we have a bunch for the next event. I need to order a lot of filament to restock from the mass printing I’ve been doing but they’ll be out at CPU Unlimited as I print them so if you don’t want to wait for the next event feel free to stop by and check what we have!

Thank you all again and hope to see you around. ^_^

Price Adjustments and an Event! https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/uncategorized/price-adjustments/ https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/uncategorized/price-adjustments/#respond Tue, 14 May 2024 14:28:00 +0000 https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/?p=8956 Hey there, I know it’s been quiet, but we’ve been working behind the scenes to prepare for a lot of things. First of all, we’re adjusting our prices a bit. As I was working on some larger models, I noticed the pricing got a bit out of hand. That was due to how I calculated the prices for each design. I’ve now adjusted that pricing model to account more for the time I’m hands-on, which gives me a more refined control over the price. As such, you may notice that small models are going to go up a bit in price as I have a set minimum handling fee now. Print prices are now calculated by: Labor involved (Prep, cleanup, and assembly), time it takes to print, and how much material it uses.

We will have some small models in the future that we will produce in batches, which will have a lower price point. I will likely post them as stocked items when I do so, allowing us to maintain large batches to reduce handling time.

Watch out as well for new options. As a test, I gave the option for PLA or TPU on some models. I will be adjusting that soon to be listed separately, as I’ve refined how to print with TPU (it’s like printing with hot bubble gum). Since we have to slow down the printer to achieve good quality, the method of calculating costs is a bit different. Initially, I was doing a percentage markup to account for the different material costs, but now it also involves a lot more time.

Regarding new options… We have an IDEX printer now! For those who don’t know what that means, it has two print heads on one machine. That means the potential to produce prints with two colors printed directly. In the past, I’ve offered, for a small added fee, to add a color change partway into the print. This option still requires contacting me at this point, as it only allows the section of layers to change color. However, with the IDEX printer, I can target specific areas to have the machine automatically swap between the colors and print with both. I’m still working on learning and tuning this machine, so for now, it’s being used to pump out more prints faster, but I hope to add a separate option for these as well.

When the option changes for the models go live, I will likely adjust how the main store page displays, but I will tackle that update when it comes. For now, I will honor any orders at the current listed prices, and if you order a more expensive model, I’ll be double-checking with the new pricing methods and issuing a partial refund if it calculates out as less. 🙂

Lastly, I want to let everyone know that we’ll be joining in the Frewsburg yardsale days by setting up at the new Kiantone Self Storage facility for the weekend. We’ll be bringing all of our available 3D prints as well as some other crafts to the event. We’re currently pumping out as much as our poor machines can handle to have the best stock we can offer. Hope to see you there!

New Models Coming in Hot! https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/site-updates/new-models-coming-in-hot/ https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/site-updates/new-models-coming-in-hot/#respond Mon, 29 Jan 2024 15:42:07 +0000 https://3d.cpuunlimited.com/?p=8893

As part of our continuous efforts to enhance our operational efficiency, we have been diligently working on devising an innovative method to streamline the incorporation of new models into our inventory system. Presently, several models remain inaccessible to our patrons due to the absence of assigned pricing details. These particular models do not appear within the “New Designs” section; however, we anticipate informing you when they have been comprehensively integrated. The delay in their availability is predominantly due to the requirement of additional data entry and, in certain instances, pending price calculations. To expedite this process, I have dedicated myself to the development of a specialized script with the objective of mass-updating the system, thereby significantly reducing the need for redundant data management.

With the simplified approach, I’m confident that not only will I quickly catch up on my calculations for the existing models, but I’ll also be able to enter new models with great efficiency.

I anticipate many models to be added in this coming month. I hope you all look forward to their arrival.
